We will start our day in Parking Lot 10, where a lined bioretention area was retrofitted more than a decade ago. Life is harsh here: What survives when snow is stockpiled high in winter and there are no interventions during the growing season? This plot began with paired vegetation of both native and non-native types under a wetter and drier moisture regime. How has it evolved?

On our way to our classroom we will stroll to the nearby EEEL building and the CNRL Engineering Complex to see various newer LID landscape features of the more manicured variety.

We'll switch gears and talk about what the ALIDP has been up to over the past year. Lunch time will include small group discussions on topical themes - what do you need to help you move forward in your 'world'?

After lunch we will hear more about other installations on campus, and then we'll head up to a research laboratory to look at projects being done on green roofs and bioretention.

As always, we plan to include a broad array of perspectives--from landscape architecture to engineering; from design, construction and approvals to operations and maintenance.

Bring your curiosity, bring your camera, bring your questions.

This event is open to all and free for partners. Employees of partner organizations are considered partners. If you are not sure if you are a partner, check the listing here.
