Knowledge of how to implement green stormwater infrastructure is rapidly evolving. This session is part 1 of a three-part series.

In this session we will get the juices flowing with presentations from Edmonton and Calgary on current design processes. Panelists will then discuss their perspectives, lessons learned and successes. Topics anticipated to be covered include:

  • Integrating design expectations and requirements /expertise across municipal groups, consultants and contractors
  • Consistency in design
  • Consistency in soils and materials
  • Grading and utilities and existing conditions
  • Constraints: e.g., trees, level of knowledge, geotechnical

Panelists will then take the discussion of pathways forward with these topics:

  • Inlet design standardization
  • Design standards vs. guidelines
  • Plant material selection
  • Resilient landscaping
  • Cost efficiency
  • Vision for future projects

Finally, we'll wrap up with audience questions and insights. If you like, you can submit a question or topic in advance by email or with your Eventbrite registration.
