Bioretention Research

At our 2013 Annual General Meeting, in a dotmocracy exercise, partners were requested to identify their top four priority tools and activities for us to pursue in the short-term.

Overwhelmingly, bioretention research was identified as the number one priority. While our attempt to establish a research site at Olds College has not materialized, an opportunity at the Town of Okotoks Wastewater Treatment Plant has come forward.

Town of Okotoks Bioretention Research Project

The ALIDP has recently been funded by The City of Calgary Water Resources to facilitate industry communications to ensure relevance of the bioretention research being undertaken at the Town of Okotoks Wastewater Treatment Plant site.
