(THIS IS A PLACEHOLDER FOR WEB-BASED ON-DEMAND TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL PRODUCTS)
When the ALIDP was formalized as a Society in 2008, one of the primary objectives of the Society was to introduce the concept of Low Impact Development to Alberta. This was accomplished by participating in the development of a number of conferences. By 2010, the ALIDP was co-partnering with The City of Calgary to deliver its erosion and sediment control training. Around this time, the ALIDP also began to develop its own LID content.
OUR EVENT COLLABORATORS
Five years later, the ALIDP is privileged to have partnered with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), the Canadian Water Resources Association Alberta Branch, and the Cities of Edmonton and Calgary.
VIDEO WEB-BASED OFFERINGS
Beginning in 2012, the ALIDP began video recording of some presentations. A future project is to develop, at least, the introductory LID material into on-demand web-based training. With the new website taking fledgeling steps, we hope to move into more web-based content-delivery soon.
TRAINING FOR YOUR GROUP
The ALIDP has two days of modularized training that can be presented 'live' to your municipality or group. This has proven to be a good option for distant communities such as Grande Prairie, where it is more practical to bring the trainer in rather than have a few participants to go out.
AVAILABLE TRAINING CONTENT
- The ABCs of LID (1 to 7 hours - overview)
- Stormwater Modelling for non-modellers (1 to 3 hours - overview)
- ESC for LID (1 to 3 hours - construction-oriented)
- The Role of Planning, Analysis & Design in Urban Drainage Practice (3 hours - intermediate)
Let us customize a training program to meet your needs.
