Washington, D.C. Modifies Stormwater Management Plan with Green Infrastructure

D. C. Mayor and the D.C. Water and Sewer Authority announced, May 20, 2015, a modification to Washington's $2.6 billion stormwater management plan to include green infrastructure. The D.C. Clean Rivers Project calls for large-scale, green infrastructure development including porous pavement, cisterns, and rain and roof gardens in the Potomac and Rock Creek Park area. Cleaner stormwater, cooler temperatures, improved aesthetics and D. C. employment opportunities  are expected outcomes of the Clean Rivers Project.
